Simplify. Enough Already!

I've had all I can stands, I can't stands no more!

Simplify. It's tough to do when you are a lover of all things old, crusty, worn-out and used. To me, those treasures look beautifully grouped together in my warm and comfortable space. But for others...it may come across as clutter. Well, I've finally maxed out my simplifying quota, preparing for our home to go on the market today. It's nearing the time to relocate. (You can read about it here.)

I must admit, however, I am really enjoying the clean, crisp look of everything in its fresh state. The new carpets...the freshly painted walls...the lack of "stuff" on every flat surface.

It's been a lot of work, but the day is finally here. Hoping for the best...

Taking junk to another level.

  1. My friend Mary started growing all sizes of whites pumpkins two years ago - I love them! Looks great to me! I don't like the color orange any way! Lol, Jennifer

congrats on your re-locating and here's to a new level of re-use, re-purposing, re-cycling, re-freshing and rescuing in new surroundings!

  3. Candy, you are so lucky, moving to Arizona...I would move back to Phoenix in a minute...so many thrift stores, antique stores, the best estate sales, especially up in Sun City! Good luck with selling your house and the move.

  4. I am torn as well, we just cleaned out for some remodeling...now what goes and what stays?? but I love to be in people's home that you just have to look at every nook and cranny, and then circle back for more, but I don't like to dust and it is restful to have some uncluttered spots, as well.

  5. Candy, I loved when we were getting ready to move having my house all cleaned out and simplified. Funny how it doesn't take long in the new house to accummulate more stuff. LOL! Best wishes on selling your home.
