Here are a couple of my finds...
Isn't this vintage orange dish drainer fabu? I remember having one just like it when I was a kid in the 70s. Or was ours yellow...or maybe it was tan. Brown maybe?
And then I came across these vintage restaurantware coffee mugs. Made by USA...but made for me. I have slowly collected restaurantware as I find inexpensive pieces. The mugs were in perfect condition, were a full set of six and the price was right on! All reasons deserving of a purchase.

As always, take care and keep on junking!
Alright - you're cracking me up! Love the stuff you found (if you need some restaurantware...we have some...). You're turning into quite the little thrifting machine!! I haven't had as much luck at ours in the last couple weeks. Two have just relocated, so they've kind of been in transition...I'll give 'em a week, and then they better be in shape! :) However - it is "garage sale Thursday" for me - have a list of three to hit really fast at lunchtime - my own mini-marathon!
ReplyDeleteLove your pics as always - you make the most simple things look beautiful! (and in the spirit of the fall season too!)
Hugs, Kathy
Your dish drainer is just the cutest! Love it, makes me want to paint mine orange now!

oh I love those old heavy restaurant mugs, so perfect to wrap your hands around a steaming cup o java in the fall...okay, I'm in California, but still.
ReplyDeleteYou are TOO funny...that little riddle brings back great memories of when my boys were younger. You always find such neat things Candy...I love the orange dish dryer...do you really have that many (26) thrift stores in your area!?! Wow..I really have to move.
ReplyDeleteHappy day.

I think our old dish drainer was yellow or green. ha!
ReplyDeleteThose coffee mugs will be good...they are nice and sturdy and awesome!
I need your help, I'm asking because you are a genius and will know the answer. I have an old rack sorta like yours, but really old and rusty. (I love it!) How can I decorate with it? Everywhere I put it, it doesn't look quite right. It just kind of looks like a dish rack misplaced. Show me some ideas...please! :)

I can honestly say that I've never seen an orange dish drainer. I wasn't born till 1976, so maybe that's why!? Love thrift day...I might join...if I could ever get out to the thrift stores...yikes...to many kids!
ReplyDeleteDo we really have that many thrift stores in the area?? lol
ReplyDeleteHi Candy-
ReplyDeleteI just got back from 'junk store hopping', that's what i like to call it. I've been collecting a thing from the 70s as well....those UGLY crochet blankets in all sorts of burnt colors. burnt orange, yellows, olives! They're for our cottage this winter, but I can't help but think that it will become a lost ART (crocheting) and I want a little piece of it!
Love your post! I'll update mine soon too w/my finds!
Candace (Candy in the 70's, 80's and 90's) :)
I am glad it's Thrift Day! I love the dish drainer. I think we had an orange one...it looks very familiar! The dishwasher we had back then looked a whole lot like me.
ReplyDeleteI posted my find this week. It's something to tweet about for sure.
Enjoying your blog!
